Jan - Production Operator & Caretaker
I joined HB Products when the company was still very small, with only four people working in production. Today, I work with both mechanical and electrical components, product testing, and a range of practical tasks around the company.
What I enjoy most is being able to follow a product all the way through the process – and being part of the team that makes it happen.
Following the Product from Start to Finish
I work with both the mechanical and electrical parts of our products, and I also test them.
What I really enjoy is being able to follow a product through the entire process. You start by building it, then it goes through casting, oven testing, final calibration, and eventually on to the next stage.
It is satisfying to see the whole process rather than just one small part of it.
Why I Joined HB Products
When I first applied, HB Products was a much smaller company. My thinking was simple: in a small company, you get the opportunity to try different things.
That is exactly what happened. Over the years, I have worked on many different tasks and gradually built new skills along the way.

Growing with the Role
When I started, I spent most of my time working on one specific product. Today, I work with many different products and tasks.
Part of that development came naturally as the company grew, but I have also asked to try new things along the way. Fortunately, there has always been an opportunity to do that.
What Motivates Me
One of the things that motivates me most is being able to follow a product all the way to completion.
There is something rewarding about starting with a product, following the process step by step, and seeing the finished result.
It also means a lot that there is room for laughter and good conversations during the day. That makes work more enjoyable.
Helping Where Needed
Something I am particularly proud of is my role as “caretaker”, as I call it.
I enjoy helping people and stepping in when something needs fixing. It is a chance to support my colleagues while also getting out and about around the building.
For me, it is a different way of contributing, and I enjoy being able to help when needed.
Working in Production
It definitely helps to have some knowledge of electronics when you work with soldering and testing equipment.
But just as important are the people around me. Good colleagues make a big difference. My workday is simply better when people are friendly, respectful, and willing to help each other.

What makes HB Products a good place to work is the sense of togetherness and the way people communicate with each other.
It does not matter whether you are talking to the CEO, the Sales Manager, or someone in production. Everyone can talk to everyone.
